Overview
At the once rundown northeastern edge of the city sits Cite de la Musique, the $120-million stone-and-glass building, the new home of the Ensemble InterContemporian, led by contemporary music leader Pierre Boulez. The recently completed complex includes both a spectacularly domed venue surrounded by a glass-roofed arcade and an opera theater with two concert halls, a research center and a library for all types of music. Both halls have regular performances of all types of music from contemporary and jazz to early music.
